He was a heavyweight boxer and held some titles. He died in Drumheller Alberta in January 1925. His father was William Nolan, b Aug 19, 1861 in Margaree, Cape Breton, and he died in Glace Bay Dec 18, 1940. William was married to Margaret MacLean, born Dec 9, 1867 in Washabuck Cape Breton. She died in Baddeck in 1932. William Nolan was the son of Michael Nolan and Ellen Fitzgerald, born about 1825 in Cape Breton. He was supposed to have jumped ship in Sydney Harbour Harbour, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in 1814 and made his way to Mabou, Inverness County, Nova Scotia. That was during the War of 1812. I am looking for a list of people names on board the Shannon on first 01 June 1813. I found some information on the Internet.
