Thomas moved to America and married Sarah Jane Phillips of Wisconsin on 19 Jan 1860 at Mariposa County, California. Miss Phillip's family were Cornish. Census records indicate he was a junior, so his father is also named Thomas and was evidently also born in Nova Scotia. Thomas Wardell Marshall died November 8, 1902 in Tuolumne County, California, spending most of his life as a gold miner. Any information on the family would be appreciated.
