Qrytext: Hi: I am looking for information on my great grandmother, Mary Maclean. She was married to my great grandfather, Andrew Moore Jr., son of Andrew Moore Sr. & Janet (MacQuarrie) Moore. I was told that Mary was a daughter of Charles & Sarah MacLean of Whale Cove, Margaree Harbour, Inverness County, Cape Breton. I am not sure as I have the right Mary! In my research, I came across a Mary Ann MacLean, born 12 January 1849, died 28 September 1871, age 22 & is buried in Calvin United Church Cemetery at Whale Cove, Margaree Harbour, Inverness County, Cape Breton. She was a daughter of John & Catherine MacLean. The date sound right as my grandfather Edward Andrew Moore was born 31 March 1869 & is buried in the Old Pioneer Cemetery, at Pleasant Bay, Inverness County, Cape Breton. Grandpa was just a baby or child when his mother died. Could anyone tell me as I have the right Mary & as I do, why would she be buried in Whale Cove, unless she very sick & needed to be care for. It would be nice to find out as I have the right Mary & the right date of birth & death. I sure would appreciated as someone have the right information, so I could put is in my Family Tree Book. Hopeful to hear from someone soon with the right information. Thank you

Qrytext: I am looking for information on two MACDONALD families in Cape Breton c. 1874: Dan J. Mac Donald (c. 1874-1948) was born in Sydney. He had a few siblings, but his obituary only notes Mrs. James M. Mac Neil and Sister Mary Edna as survivors. Sr. Mary Edna was a teacher at St. Anne's school Glace Bay at the time of Dan's death. Dan J. married Christy Mac Gillivary, of Reserve in 1902. He lived the last 50 years of his life in Dominion. I have checked various sources and have not yet found any parents/other siblings. Jessie Anne Mac Donald was born approx. 1880. I have very little info about her except for the fact that she married John Willie Morrison of Glace Bay/Mira c. 1906. She died in the mid 1950's in boston mass. There seem to be many Jessie Mac Donalds at the time up to this point the John Willie connection has proved fruitless. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.. kth

My sister was born and adopted in 1953 - in Toronto, Ontario - but we're thinking that there might still be family members in the area that can help us. There are two different spellings mentioned on legal documents so we are not sure if the spelling of the surname is "Baggley" or Baggly" - her given names are 'Karen Elizabeth'. We would be grateful for any information you can send us (addresses, phone numbers) so that we may continue our search for locating her family. One of these men is my ggg grandfather. William started building ships for Archibald and Company in Sydney Cape Breton in 1829 and became a well known shipwright building ships all over Cape Breton. He was commissioned for most of the Archibald ships. William's nephew, Andrew also built ships and William's son, John also joined them in this occupation. One would think that since William was so well known as a shipwright there would be something on him. William was born 1803 and died 1877. Any help or information will be GREATLY appreciated.
