Qrytext: Andrew McDonell b:about 1810 married Jane Campbell b:1813. Children listed in the book "Mabou Pioneers" page 319 Volume I: Dougald, Allan, Hector, Mary, Mary Anne, and Angus. Children listed in the Census of 1881 for County of Inverness. Dougald b: 1846, Mary b:1841,Maggie b:1845, Mary A b:1853,Bella b:1855, and Duncan b: 1857. Jane is listed as widow. I am unable to trace Allan, Hector, and Anne. (My g grandparents)Angus b:1834 is found in Judique. He married Elizabeth (Besty) MacLeod b:1833. In the 1891 Census Dougald A. b:1846 married Isabella Sutherland b:1862 Had one son named Donald. Any refernces found, states Andrew McDonell of S.W.Margaree. It is my believe he is born in Nova Scotia; Jane Campbell's family came from Tulloch, Lochaber, Scotland. Jane is born in Canada. Can anyone help with "MacDonnell" family line. Do not know who was the oldest son of Andrew MacDonell. It could be Allan, Hector, or Angus. This family is Catholic. It is my understanding descendants of this family still live in Cape Breton. Thank you, Juanita (MacDonnell)Roger.

My grandfather (John Daniel Campbell) was born in Nova Scotia in 1872 (Catholic). My grandmother (Amanda Beaton) was also born in Nova Scotia in 1877. (Catholic) The both immigrated to the Noank, Conn. area, where they were married. My grandfather built whaling ships, in Mystic, Conn., His brother Allen also move to Noank Conn. and became a ship captain. I know my grandfather had 4 brothers: Allen, Rodney, Angus, and Charles and may have had sisters: Tina Mac Donald, Kate Bates, Mame De Veroux? and an adopted brother Larry? I was told his father was injured in a sea accident and lost the use of his legs, he became a school teacher in Nova Scotia. My father told me they were from the Mabou. But it could of been from around that area because he also mentioned the Brass D'Or lakes area. My grandmother, had 2 sister Anna Beaton Murphy and one named Lilia Beaton and a brother James Beaton. Her mother's name was Mother's name was Catherine. She also had 2 other brothers that were lost at sea. I don't know their names. Unfortunately that's all I have managed to pull up from records in the family bible and my recollections of what my father and aunt told me. Both are dead now. If anyone, is related, or has information on my Great Grandparents, or other relatives in Nova Scotia, I'd love to here from you. Thanks
