This account of those buried in the MacLeod Family Cemeterey was originally written in 1935 by Lena A. MacAulay from information she obtained from her Aunt Hannah shortly before she died. It was given in May 1979 to Mabel MacDonald Fraser from the records of J. Fraser MacAulay. Additional notes were added by Mrs. Fraser. The account was made available by R. Fraser in 1997.

The cemetery is located on south side of Island Point just west of the gravel bar with barrasois pond behind it. In September of 1999, this small graveyard was cleaned by community volunteers, and the existing inscriptions were transcribed by R. Fraser.

John MacLeod, Son of Robert, Son of John, Son of Donald, Son of John,
 Son of Alexander, Son of Norman all millers in Assynt, Scotland.
 
 Robert MacLeod and Margaret McKay his wife came from Scotland in
 1836, settled at St. Anns, his daughters Katie and Joan and (6) sons namely
 John, Duncan, Alex, Hugh, William and Angus.
 
 John settled at Island Point, Boularderie; Hugh at Kincardine, Ontario;
 William and Angus went to sea; William was drowned; Angus settled in
 Baltinon (sic); Duncan at Englishtown.
 Angus' daughter Alverda visited in Cape Breton at Island Point.
 
 Robert MacLeod is buried at Island Point.  His wife buried at S. Gut St. Anns.
 John MacLeod and his wife buried at Island Point and his two infant
 children.
 John MacLeod Jr. has one boy buried at Island Pt.
