Searching for information on the ancestors of Albert B. McCormack. He was the son of Joseph McCormack (b. Abt 1862 - d. Jan 8 1918 and Mary MacKenzie (b. Christmas Island). Joseph's Parents were John Joseph McCormack and Annie Campbell - but I have no information on them at all other than they came "up" from Big Pond to Glace Bay around 1870. There is a lake called McCormack Lake that I think was named for that family. I would like help if possible. Mary's parents I do not know, but her siblings were; Roderick, Daniel, Christine, and Murdoch. Any help on these families is also greatly appreciated. Kindest Regards! Mark .

I just received this today...copied from one of the record books...the last entry for this line is Christy McPhee and Peter Gillis--they are my gr-gr-grandparents. I saw that several other people have postings with these names...I have tried to reach Dolores McPhee who has postings very similar to ours...but my messages keep coming back. Here is the information that may help us connect. Anyone else who is connected, please let me know. Thanks Malcolm McPhee married Sarah McLean. Issue: John, Donald, John and Chri stie. The elder John was surnamed "Iain Alainn," or "Handsome John", because of his handsome countenance. John McPhee married Mary, daughter of Norman McNeil, Piper's Cove. The settled at Sydney Mines, where they had a family. Donald never married. When old he went to live with some relative at Irish Cove. John "Og" was but a small man, but he was as tough as steel. He married Christie McDonald. Issue: John, Neil and Malcolm. John Og sold his farm in Benacadie Glen and moved to Bridgeport where he bought another farm. His son, Neil, was killed in the Springhill Mine explosion, and this misfortune had such effect on the mind of his brother Malcolm, that he became insane. John, son of John Og, married Rachel, daughter of Hector McKinnon (Big John), of Rear Castle Bay. No issue: They reside in New Waterford. Christie McPhee (Malcolm) married Peter Gillis, of Rear Beaver Cove. They had a family.
