Looking for any information re: a Captain ANGUS MACLEAN, born about 1837. His son, Neil, moved to Millinocket, ME from Nova Scotia in 1900. On Neil's marriage certificate it lists his mother as Mary M(a)cNeil, born in Nova Scotia. ANGUS may have been born in Scotland. There is a good possibility that Captain ANGUS MACLEAN married more than once. Please contact me if you know anything about ANGUS, my g- grandfather! Thanks, Marcia E. My Grandmother Anna Jessome was born in Little (Petit) Bras D'or Cape Breton NS around 1850. Her mother owned a large farm there. Her Uncles Patrick and William also had farms there. I believe she was a descendant of Jean Jessaume who came from France and was married to Marie Anne Fournier, but cannot fill in the people in between. She could have descended from Andrew (Jessaume) Jessome or one of Jean other sons. My Grandmother married Donald McLean and lived in Sidney Mines. If anyone has any more information I would be delighted to receive it.

I am looking for information regarding the Mader family history in Cape Breton. The name we have is Andrew Mader who came from Austria in 1900. His wife Barbara had two children in Cape Breton. She may have had more children but they may have died in infancy. The two children were William and Betty. This may be a long shot but I thought I'd give it a try. Thanks for your time Mason Laver

James ADAIR, born about 1880, Sidney, N.S. married Freda MAJOR about 1905. Their children: James ADAIR, Major ADAIR and possible 3 or 4 more children. We think James and Freda ADAIR were killed in an accident as Major ADAIR (my husband's father) was orphaned at a very young age. Major ran away from the orphanage and made his way to Northern Ontario eventually, working in the mines, at a young age. Major was born in 1916. If anyone has any information concerning James and Freda Adair, please email me: lyna@home.com

I am searching for my ancestor, Cornelius Fox, born 1745 in Ireland. Was a schoolteacher at Cape Breton soon after arriving from Ireland around 1763-66, also around 1788, was the first person initiated under the Warrant of St. George's Lodge No. 20 into the Masonic Lodge in Wolfville. He was their Secretary, late 1780/90. He was married 1776 first to Elizabeth Congdon,at Cornwallis, N.S., later married1787 at Cornwallis, to Olive Cleveland, settling in Cape Breton soon thereafter. The Lodge in Wolfville had a recent play in which Mr. Fox name was noted, perhaps the Lodge may have some record of interest regarding my "Fox". Is there anyone that may be so kind to help me to find my ancestor? I very much appriciate any help I can get in my search.
