Happy New Year fellow geneologists! I am looking for details regarding Ewen A. Morrison (born c.1850) from Big Ridge, Cape Breton. He married Margaret Mary Matheson on the 13th of April, 1870 in St. Anne's, Cape Breton. They apparently walked after the wedding in St. Anne's to their newly constructed home in Big Ridge, where they lived and had one son (that I know of): Ewen Angus Morrison (1875- 1942.) Ewen Angus Morrison (1875) married Catherine A MacKenzie. Any further information on any of these people or their ancestors would be greatly appreciated. If they are in your family tree, perhaps we could exchange notes. Looking forward to hearing from fellow researchers. Charlie.

Hi, I'm trying to trace back my family tree. I was wondering if anyone might reconize the names ISADORE DEVEAU who married HENRIETTE POIRIER. They should have been born between 1775 and 1800, but I'm not sure of the exact dates. They had a child, my G-G-G-Grandmother Mother, MARIE CELESTE DEVEAU, who married JEAN ALEXANDER CAMUS on October 3, 1843, in cheticamp N.S. JEAN ALEX CAMUS'S mother was a lady by the name of MARIE DEVEAU, daughter of PIERRE DEVEAU and MARGUERITE GAUDET. JEAN ALEXANDER CAMUS'S Grandmother was MARIE L'OFFICIAL(from Bay,St. George,NFLD),daughter of HENRY L'OFFICIAL and ELISABETH SHEGONE. Also wondering if some one might reconize the MARGUERITE LE BLANC(daughter of SIMON JOSEPH LE BLANC and OSITE ARSENAULT) who married LOUIS TOUSSAINT LONGUEPEE, or MARGUERITE LE BLANC(daughter of SIMON LE BLANC and MARIE JORDON), who married LOUIS TOUSSAINT LONGUEPEE. Just wondering if anyone could give me any clues as to who their ancestors were. Also wondering if they may have had someone who was MicMac in their family tree? If you can shed some light on the backround of these families, please E-mail me at jackmid@altech.ab.ca. Thanks very much. Cara M.

Hi there, This is a great site for researching family trees!! I myself am looking to find out some more info on my distant relatives. Wondering if anyone might know more about the DEVEAU/DEVAUX family. I have 2 in my direct line. The first is a MARIE CELESTE DEVEAU/DEVAUX who married JEAN ALEXANDRE CAMUS on Oct.3,1843. Her parents were ISADORE DEVEAU/DEVAUX and HENRIETTE POIRIER. The second in my line by that last name is MARIE DEVEAU/DEVAUX who m. JEAN CAMUS on Nov.6,1820. Her parents were PIERRE DEVEAU/DEVAUX, and MARGUERITE GAUDET. I'm also wondering if anyone may have any info on a MARGUERITE LEBLANC who m. LOUIS ALEX LONGUEPEE on Jan.17,1832. Her parents were SIMON LEBLANC and MARIE JORDON. As well, I have another MARGUERITE LEBLANC in my line. She was m. to LOUIS TOUSSAINT LONGUEPEE, and her parents were SIMON JOSEPH LEBLANC and OSITE ARSENAULT. I'm also intrested to find out where a person would look to find out MIKMAQ surnames. My family is of french decent, but it has been suspected that someone who is of MIKMAQ decent might have married into my family tree. If you have any information that might help me with my search, or if you would like some more info please E-mail me at jackmid@altech.ab.ca Thanks very much Cara M.

Have Baptism certificate for my Grandmother, which reads, "Marie Sarah Daughter of Anthony Hailig and Mary McNeil of St. Peters C.B. was born on Feb 20, 1884 and was baptized in St. Mary's Church on Feb 25, 1884" signed by Michael McKenzie, Pastor, Dominion No. 4, C.B. Aug 19, 1918. I am unfamiliar with Nova Scotia. Does C.B. stand for Cape Breton? What does the term "Dominion No. 4" refer to? Also, the certiciate was issued from St. Anthony's Church (Rev J. J. Macneil, P.P.?). St. Mary's and St. Anthony's are most likely Catholic Churches. How can I contact these churches?
