After losing his leg in an accident he moved with his daughter, to Minnesota. His wife died in childbirth in 1891. Any information would be very much appreciated. Thank you

: Looking for factual verification on birth, birthplace, and parents of Laura Payne who married Nathaniel Spencer Mar 25 1801 in Sydney, Cape Breton Island. Sources reviewed - very few facts:
1. (public records) Laura Payne, born in CT, married N. Spencer, sister to Orilla Payne who married Henry Peters.
2. 3 sources. Lurella Payne, born Aug 27 1787 in New Hampshire. Married N. Spencer Mar 25 1801. Sister to Aurelia Payne who married H. Peters and Thomas Murrant.
3. 2 sources. Laura, born Aug 27 1787, Canterbury, CT. Sister Aurelia Payne.
4. 1 source. Laura, born around the Lebanon, CT area. Father John Payne who settled in Port Morien.
Have not been able to verify any of the above.

I'm looking for any information on John Thomas and Martha Cann and their descendants. They had a son (or perhaps grandson) named Stephen J Thomas who left Gabarus and went to the US around 1889. John Thomas had a twin sister Mary who married Benjamin Cann. John and Mary were apparently born in Scotland and are said to have come to Cape Breton with their Mother. Thanks!

Looking for a French Huguenot family with a name like COZEAN or COZINE who came from France to Canada, and then to The country south of her, the U.S. My George COZEAN/COZIAN was in Arkansas in 1836 as a grown man, but he and/or his family came from Canada. Place unknown. He died in 1854 in Arkansas, but lived a few years in Missouri in the 1840s. Any help will be appreciated. We believe the name has undergone changes. Virginia Cozean Holter
