My grandfather Murdoch McNeil was born in Cape Breton and came back to Scotland during the first world war. I think I have traced his family back to the 1891 census. My grandfather was born 1886/7. His father was James McNeil and mother Mary Ann. He had 3 sisters Kate, Lizzie Ann and Mary Sarah. He also had 2 aunts staying with him at the time of the census (Kate and Sarah).
They were farmers in Johnstown, Richmond County. I don't have any addresses or farm names yet and need this to continue my searches. If anyone has any information or can give me any further help in my search, I would be very grateful.
All the best, Bill Buchan, St Combs, Aberdeenshire, Scotland

I am interested in finding info on Alexander and Dan Cameron, they moved to Bridgeport from I believe Castle Bay. Alex was my grandfather and Dan was his brother. Alex Cameron was married to Ann MacNeil from Benacadie Glen. They had two daughters, Katie and Cassie. I am suspicious that this was Alex's second marriage and I think he had one daughter Flora or maybe she was reared by my grandmother. Dan Cameron was married to Anastasis MacAdam, they had three children, Mary Ann, Alex and Elizabeth. To my knowledge both Alex and Dan died at a young age. As far as I know there was another brother called Sander and married ( ) MacLean, they also lived in Bridgeport and I am only aware of Sander's daughter Catherine married Louis Brisson (Brizon) and also lived in Bridgeport. I am suspicious there was more in that family but am totally confused. Thanks for any help.

Found in "Emigrants from the Western Isles, 1750-1900, Vol 1, Harris", the following supposed siblings of my grandfather John Allen Morrison, son of Allen and Mary Morrison, of Middle River, married Sarah McLean c. 1872: MORRISON: Malcolm, 1821-, mar. Sarah; Kenneth, n/m; Roderick, 1825-, mar. Kirsty Buchanan; Catherine, 1826, mar. Norman Shaw. Does anyone have info that could verify these MORRISONS as sibs of John Allen and children of Allen and Mary?
Thanks, Marian Elder
